Colorado winters can be tough on electric golf cars, and batteries will freeze. Let’s face it, no one likes the expense of replacing batteries in the spring.
If you will continue to use your golf car through the winter, it’s pretty simple to keep your batteries safe. Make sure you keep the water level in your batteries at the recommended level and keep the car on charge when not in use. Try to get your golf car out on the road at least a few times a month to reset the charging cycles. While keeping your golf car in the garage is recommended, it does not ensure the batteries won’t freeze and these steps should still be taken. It’s never a good idea to let your batteries go completely dead, especially in the winter. Dead batteries are more susceptible to freezing and/or may require a trained technician to get it charging again.
